WHAT THEY NEED IN THE

AGRO-FOOD SECTOR

The introduction of nanotechnologies in the agri-food sector involves a wide range of applications. These range from the improvement of certain characteristics of foods such as color, taste and consistency, to the achievement of greater absorption and better bioavailability of nutrients and food supplements, up to the development of new packaging materials, with enhanced antimicrobial and / or mechanical properties , able to improve product conservation.

More ambitious applications include the development of nanosensors capable of facilitating the monitoring of packaged foods during transport and storage. Many products are already on the market and many others are being tested.
