DIY Christmas Gifts
Christmas presents can be fun or it can be a headache, trying to find the right gift for someone. Why not try your hand at making your own personal gifts. Remember it’ s not how much money you spent on the gift it is the thought that goes into the gift and making your own adds that special feeling.
Luxurious, Lemon Sugar Scrub— One for the ladies— Plus it only takes about 10 minutes to make! Ingredients: 2 1 / 2 cups granulated sugar 1 / 4 cup coconut oil( almond oil will also work) 1 lemon or lemon natural oils
Put 2 cups sugar in a large bowl. Set aside. Measure out 1 / 4 cup of coconut oil and place it in a microwave safe bowl. Heat coconut oil in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until the oil is melted. Pour oil over sugar and mix to combine.
Using a zester or small grater, zest the rind of 1 lemon. Then, cut zested lemon in half and, using a juicer, juice the lemon. Remove any seeds from lemon juice. Add lemon juice and zest to the sugar mixture and stir to combine.
If sugar scrub is still too“ wet”, add extra 1 / 2 cup sugar until desired consistency is reached. Then grab a little jar of some sort.
Pour your new, fancy lemon sugar scrub into the jar. Voila! All done! Super simple right!?
And, of course, you have to be a good gift giver and test it out before you give it away, right?? Just take about 1 teaspoon in your hand and scrub away! When you are done scrubbing, rinse thoroughly. The lemon gives off a wonderfully clean scent, the coconut oil helps to moisturize your skin, and the sugar helps to exfoliate!
