LIFE IN THE LOWER SCHOOL
Students are expected to be kind , responsible and inclusive . Two years in the Lower School settles students into our large community with a friendly and helping hand . This lays the foundation for their future progress and development within the school and helps them to become self-confident and independent , ready for the years ahead .
The smaller size of Years 7 and 8 means that these students can get to know everyone else in the Lower School . They have a dedicated Common Room large enough for them all , and at break and lunch every day they can be found in there , socialising , playing table football or relaxing , if they are not busy with an activity from our co-curricular programme .
There are whole year group social activities , including cinema trips , bowling , meals out in town , discos ; as well as smaller events , when a couple of tutor groups combine for a film night or outing . Some of these occasions also function as charity fundraising events .
