“I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar, that much is true.” That a line from the song, “Don’t you want me baby”, by Human League. That is the inspiration behind this week’s Reader’s Anthems. This week’s Anthem is from Jill and her story is a simple story about transforming herself and her life.
Jill was a waitress at a meat market type of establishment. She had dread of being a success, and never having to go back to that kind of waitressing again to support her. Jill met one the patrons of this establishments, a well to do man, who did have a liking for her. He showed her things she never quite imagined. However, Jill was fond of this man, but there was no love. A time came when he did proclaim he loved her.
