The Lovely Pink Diva The Lovely Pink Diva | Page 2

To quote Sheryl Crow, “A Change can do you good,” is sometimes all it takes to let your inner diva out. This week’s theme was actually inspired, partly by my “Ah-Huh” moment in life, but also a recent room redecoration. I was a store and spotted 4 aqua blue and white striped throw pillows, my décor is a Mediterranean look, with maroons, with black iron, tables and coffee table. Cream leather couches. Mustard Tuscan yellow accents. When I spotted these pillows, I realized I had not decorated in 7 years.

My ex never allowed me to decorate, he did it all, he told me he didn’t trust me on this area, when he saw some my furniture that came up in my move to Cleveland. Anyone knows, when moving in with someone when you’re getting married, family just gives you things. He didn’t believe this, so I was not allowed to decorate. Anyway, he only bought 2 of the Tuscan yellow throw pillows; I feel we needed 2 more since there a love seat. In the divorced I got all the furniture. It was the only thing, besides myself back, that I got. Then again I am the one who actually bought all the furniture, that another story for another time. When I moved in my place, I never really redecorated. I added a few things, but was all still same style. I liked it, but there were no real splashes of me. I was comfortable with the look.

When I spotted those pillows, and saw there was 4 of them at $5 each. I was inspired to do a change. I have been finding things here and there. The room was being pulled nicely together. It breathed a new life. The old was there but looked different with the splashes of aqua blue. My personality was coming through. Hints of my past were becoming just a memory. It was a change, a small change, but a change and it did so much good. Sometimes change can be huge, like going to school for a career you never thought you would be doing. Or it can be small, like a room redecoration. Accepting change is good to let your inner diva emerge. So this week the theme is “Accepting Change.”
