First Impressions
What is that saying? Oh you never get a second chance at a first impression. That is true, you can be wrong about what your first impression was about someone, but most the time, your first impression is spot on. Knowing this, I always try to give the best first impression I can. Usually I get “Wow, she is so nice.” I am ok with that, because, that is who I am, I am a very nice person. I rather give a truthful first impression, then one that is fictional.
I see people who have done that, try to give a first impression that just isn’t them; they end up in the end being labeled as fake. Instead trying so hard, just be yourself, give the best first impression you can being yourself. You will find you will get much further. That is actually what inspired this week’s issue. I watched someone not be themselves and give a bad first impression. I knew if they only would have just been themselves they would be much better off.
Another reason I choose first impressions as this week’s theme is because I too am going to be making a first impression on someone very soon. I am actually going to visit a friend who lives in another state and city. We know each other over a year, via talking on phone, texting, and emails, but we never met. I am getting that chance, and I am taking it. When we meet, it will be a first impression, from physically seeing each other.
The problem with over doing a first impression is once you get that label, it is hard to lose it. Eventually you can have people see who you really are, but they will always have that shadow of doubt. So why not just be yourself, and give a first impression with a positive impression, rather then one that would be negative, and not true. That is what this week’s issue is all about making a first impression.
