A Mother’s Unconditional Love

She is mad I didn’t tell her. How could I?

No mother wants to hear her daughter is damaged. 

Picking up pieces 

of her mutilated body is slowly killing her. 

How are you supposed to explain that 

to the woman that has loved you unconditionally? 

You can’t, and so the chaos begins. 

When I act completely fine 

it’s my insides that are eating away at me. 

damaging our relationship 

I open my eyes

to her gripping my shoulders 

screaming 

crying:

“WHY WON’T YOU TALK TO ME?!”

Her voice bounces off my ivory walls 

Sobs hydrate my dry skin

Maybe she can tell 

I’m giving up 

Maybe she can tell 

I’m already gone.
