The cool sand beneath Eliana's feet felt absolutely exhilarating, as she dashed along the shore of the seaside, picking up dirt and other coarse particles that nipped at the exposed skin of her knees and shins.

Bothersome, of course, annoying even, but at that moment she could hardly care less, for her focus was dead set on the sky, and the sky alone. Well, that and the large grey boulder only a few metres away in the distance. Her “hill-y rock” as she liked to call it. A large landmass that  offered the best view of the beach and the serene, blue world above.

A view she would definitely take advantage of, as today was a very big day for not only her, but for the whole country.

 It isn’t every day that you get to watch a spaceship take off for a whole new planet. Especially when the astronaut manning the flight is none other than your very own mother.

Eliana would definitely be missing her mom for a very long time, but she knew that this was something her mother wanted to do. She had always dreamed of
