The circumstances haven't changed, only the date.
The victims haven't changed, only the rate.
Trump shed light on the people who've hid,
the people who always ended those statements with an, “I kid.”
This ain't no joke now;
guns going off everyday. Pow!
Cops shoot people of color on sight,
hearing racist slurs from the left and the right.
I've seen laws change but people won’t.
They promise they will help, but don't.
Crazy how some people want change,
but hide behind their phones; it's strange.
