I’d Drown for You

Markel Rock

She’s tall with curly hair

and the glasses, too.

She’s strong and independent.

Never asked me to,

but I would if she'd let me.

I can't, but her current moves me.

If I ever had to,

she wouldn’t have to ask.

This picture that we paint—

so damn symmetric—

there’s no second guessing.

I love your presence

and your curves are pleasant,

but my eyes can’t fight the essence.

I’m just distracted by the things

that I’m attracted by.

I know I can’t swim, but

I know I’d drown for you.
