Not “Valuable” Enough.

Without a doubt quarantine took a great big toll on people’s health. It was scary and all new to us. Teaneck High gave us the advantage of having mental health days and even tweaking the scheduling for us so we would get out of school early and wouldn’t stare at a screen for hours and hours, and it was helpful and such a huge relief for everyone.
Unfortunately coming back into school there were little to no modifications. Some teachers refused to give 10 minute breaks while others still offered it. You would think coming back to school from being online some things would be different, but apparently not. One thing that did hurt the most was the fact there weren’t any mental health days. People are fighting in the morning to get up for school, people have no motivation but if they miss a certain amount of days you lose credit, and it is SO unfair to everyone. We need days to be able to collect ourselves, we need days to make up for missing work, we need days to be there for one another.
We need to acknowledge the fact that we cannot push ourselves so much over the edge, and I must personally say school is good at doing that, and the way that teachers will do their own thing; not give breaks, assign homework over the weekend, and more proves that they don’t quite frankly care or understand.
