The operation takes literally seconds to complete using just a standard cylinder screw . There are no fiddly grub screws or components to juggle – just the cylinder cam extender and key extender all supplied in handy kit form . These fit between the two 30mm cylinder ends making the ABUS Modular MX system the locksmith ’ s ultimate ‘ back of the van ’ life saver that can convert any ABUS cylinder into the perfect fit for the job .

It is compatible with all ABUS Bravus , Vitess and Zolit double and thumb turn patented and trademark protected cylinder systems .

The ABUS Modular MX cylinder system offers the ideal solution for on-site service calls or emergency callouts , where the cylinder length isn ’ t known in advance . The Modular MX system from ABUS allows locksmiths to react to the onsite requirements on the spot , saving time , stock holding , and avoiding costly return trips .

The whole process takes literally seconds to complete in three easy steps :

1 . Use a fixing screw to turn the bar of the MX cylinder 90 °, remove the housing section , lock bit and coupling

2 . Extend the cylinder to the required length by means of the housing , core , and key extensions

3 . Put the coupling , lock bit and housing section back in and use the fixing screw to turn the bar of the cylinder back 90 °.

Modular MX variants include a high strength stainless steel anti drill inlay as standard , with hardened steel pins inside the cylinder to offer increased protection against drilling . The stainless steel modular threaded bore hole also ensures additional anti-pull protection .

OUR V5 & V10 RANGE OF CYLINDERS ARE AVAILABLE IN A WIDE RANGE OF SIZES , STYLES AND FUNCTIONS , AND ARE SUITABLE FOR BOTH DOMESTIC AND COMMERCIAL USE .

KTD = Each lock is opened by its own UNIQUE KEY , which does not open any other lock .

KA = All cylinders in the set are opened by the same key , this option provides SAME KEY convenience and eliminates the need for multiple keys where numerous cylinders are used .

UMK = A basic master key system is where all cylinder locks are opened by a single key MASTER KEY but each of the cylinders locks are opened by their own key often referred to as the slave , change or differ key . Master key systems can be built bespoke as per requirements from floor plans or site or building walk round surveys .
