GATE SPECIALISTS WIDEN HORIZONS
»»ZEDLOCK, WHICH DESIGNS AND
manufactures gate locks and associated
products, chose to exhibit at Lockex as
a joint enterprise with Birkdale Sales, its
main distributor.
Birkdale, established in the mid 1980s as
a fencing contractor with supply to trade
outlets starting ten years later, has become
a leading UK wholesale supplier of gate
and fencing accessories.
The business has a huge network of
stockists and sells what it describes as
the largest range of gate and fencing
accessories on the market today.
Products are all available ex stock, with
everything from individual gate hardware
items, trade packs and tools through to
pre-packaged ironmongery, security
options and even complete electric
fencing systems all from one supplier.
Bruce Robertson, managing director
of Zedlock, said Lockex was a good
opportunity to make contacts in other
sectors as well as agricultural. He
commented: “We have had a good level
of interest at the show. What works well
for us is repeat business – if a locksmith
endorses a product he is likely to do it
again. We are mainly in the agricultural
sector but looking to go into industrial
sectors and others such as utility
companies.”

fantastic value for money.”
