Consider for a moment the simple door closer. The replacement of door closers is a routine job for many locksmiths, along with the replacement of hinges, handles and other items of door furniture. But a door closer is not so simple ... in fact, the door closer is one of the most complicated of all architectural ironmongery products. It combines a complex mixture of geometry, physics, hydraulics and mechanical leverage to ensure the door can be opened with ease by the user yet delivers a high automatic closing
