FRIDAY’S WINNER
Friday’s winner was Mandy Northern.
Mandy attended with her partner Martyn
Firth, owner of Fast Response in Wakefield
West Yorkshire. Mandy said, “I do the
invoicing for Fast Response and Lockex
2016 came up at the right time for the
business. Martyn found out about the
show on a locksmith forum and we were
interested to see what it was about. Martyn
was particularly interested in finding out
about new tools.
“We haven’t attended an industry
exhibition before,” says Martyn. “And I was
keen to see if it would be beneficial to do
so in future. It turned out that it was, not
only because of the fabulous prizes Mandy
won but it also gave us chance to see new
products available and make contact
with suppliers. We met people who we
wouldn’t normally have the opportunity
to meet.”
SATURDAY’S WINNER
On Saturday, Daniel Palmer of Locks
in the City became the second lucky
Lockex Locksmith Lottery winner. “The
show came up in conversation with
other locksmiths so I decided to visit,”
says Daniel. “I thought it was wellbranded and very professionally executed
exhibition and I will definitely go to the
next one,” said Daniel.
“I was very pleased to win such a
fantastic prize and I’m already using the
Yale camera. I am particularly looking
forward to attending the Keyprint training
course,” he added.
Daniel and his business partner
Paul are both certified members of the
Master Locksmith Association (MLA)

SUNDAY’S WINNER
The final winner of the weekend on the
Sunday of Lockex 2016 was Katie, who
had attended the show with her friend,
Lady Kamalock’s Melanie Mahabir. Katie
sometimes accompanies Melanie on jobs
so they decided to split the winnings, with
Melanie taking the industry related prizes
and Katie got to keep the champagne and
red wine.
Lady Kamalock operates a 24/7 mobile
locksmith service in Reading, Berkshire
and the surrounding area. The majority of
callouts are residential, such as lock outs,
replacements and upgrades but some
commercial work too.
Melanie has been a subscriber to the
Locksmith Journal for 2 years and found
out about Lockex in the magazine. “It was
most definitely a worthwhile trip, brilliant
actually,” Melanie said about her visit to
the show. “I made some good contacts,”
she added.
