CHEERS TO APPROVED DOCUMENT Q1
Avocet Hardware has welcomed the imminent adoption of
Approved Document Q1 of the Building Regulations 2010.
»»“Approved Document
Q1 is a real game changer,”
said Avocet’s marketing
manager, Derrick Purvis.
“At present, product
hardware
specification and options
for selection in relation to
security vary significantly.”
“For every high quality
product, which brings with it
peace of mind and excellent
value for money, there are a
host of cheaper options that
win hands’ down on price, but
fail to provide any real
level of security.”
“Q1
completely
redresses the
balance by
permanently
removing
such cheap
products from
the specification
equation, while
also placing security firmly to
the fore. The industry really
should be shouting about it
from the rooftops.”
‘should be
shouting about it
from the rooftops’
Approved Document Q1 of
the Building Regulations 2010
comes in to force on October
1st, 2015. From that date, all
doors and windows will, at the
minimum, have to be either
PAS24:2012 rated or Secured
By Design (SBD) – a move
that finally regulates against
the products that make them
less secure.
Avocet has a complete
range of products that
enable companies to
meet the requirements of
Approved Document Q1.
These include ABS and ATK
3-star and Sold Secure SS312
Diamond rated Euro cylinder
locks, Affinity 3D UPVC and
composite door hinges,
Affinity Secured by Design
rated multi-point door locks
and a full selection of suited
door furniture.

YOU HAVE FITTED SECURE
LOCKS BUT ARE THE WINDOWS
SIMPLY LIKE UNLOCKED
DOORS TO A BURGLAR?
Many homes have double glazed windows where the glass is
secured by a beading on the outside. This can easily be removed
and is one of the most common ways that burglars get in. Taking
out the glass is quick and makes no noise.
NO-GO GLASS LOCKS lock the glass into the frame so that the
glass cannot be removed without smashing the glass.
NO-GO GLASS LOCKS are designed to be easily fitted to existing
windows and are a very cost-effective way to make a property
even more secure.
NO-GO SECURITY PRODUCTS are looking for companies to sell
and install our NO-GO GLASS LOCKS. If you would like to expand
your business then contact us.
