SECURIKEY PROVIDES SAFE MIRRORS
FOR RISKY ENVIRONMENTS
Conventional mirrors are not
suitable for some risky areas
which is where Securikey’s
range of institutional
mirrors – specially designed
to withstand the harsh
environments within prisons,
psychiatric hospitals and
other secure correction
facilities – prove ideal
solutions.
With a choice of mirror
styles, sizes and materials,
all of which are virtually
unbreakable and ligature-free,
Securikey institutional mirrors
provide effective real time
surveillance and eliminate
blind spots, ensuring the safety
of inmates, patients, staff and
visitors who may otherwise be
at risk from surprise attacks or
collisions.
Designed in conjunction
with prison architects,
Securikey institutional mirrors
are tested and approved to
meet stringent Home Office
regulations and are specified
for prison cells owned by
the Metropolitan Police
Department and Scotland
Yard. They are also installed in
a wide range of correctional
and health institutions
worldwide, particularly in
high-risk areas where a reliable
solution is required.
The Institutional Stainless
Steel range is made from
quality, scratch-resistant
1.2mm stainless steel, which
is unbreakable, heat-resistant
and easy to maintain. There
are Quarter face, Half face
or Ceiling Dome options
available to meet different
siting needs, all of which are
supplied with anti-ligature
steel frames for optimum
security and to reduce any
risk of suicides. The innovative
pressed counter-step holes
in the Ceiling Dome model
allow these mirrors to be
fixed straight to the ceiling
or wall without a steel frame
due to the pressed holes in
the stainless steel edge, while
an anti-pik filler is used to
further minimise any risk of
ligatures.
To help customers in their
initial selection prior to direct
consultation, Securikey has
produced a useful online guide
to convex mirrors, which can
