Andrew Taylor is a well known inventor of
locks, mechanical and electrically operated.
When he joined the
lock industry he served
his apprenticeship as a
locksmith and then led
a team of locksmiths
and security engineers,
graduating to the drawing
board where his outstanding
talent for invention came to
the fore.
His first patent was in 1972
for the Automatic Locking Bolt
known as the ALBI and sold
by Ingersoll Locks Ltd. Still in
production today, now made
by Axxium Limited and known
as the AXX-1-bolt.
Since then he has had many
other Patents and designed
locks for many prestigious
buildings in the UK.
His present inventions are for

locks which include the very

there are new products

The Electric spindle, which

existing mortice locks and

make it difficult to get a firm
