As a general rule, from the overall
length deduct 45mm for President,
Variator A and Centurio A, 50mm for
Praetor and Variator B, 55mm for Varos

Changeable Varos Combi B 30
Keylocks listed as ‘changeable’
have the additional benefit of
allowing the existing set of keys to
be changed over to a new set if a key
is lost or stolen, without the need to
replace the entire lock. The method
of changing varies depending on the
keylock. In some cases, a change
from old to new key can be made
using a switch on the back of the
lock, in others a change activator key
is used in the keyway to prepare the
lock for key change. The Varos changeable keylock was
designed as a replacement for electronic
or mechanical combination locks, in
situations where use of a key is more
appropriate. Certified to EN1300 Class B, Mauer
also offer the Combi B 30, which is an
electronic lock with key override.
The electronic operation, with multiple
users, time delay, basic audit and alarm
connections, can provide simple day to
day use, whilst the key override allows
for access in an emergency.

Boltworks
Varos Mini-bit
The mini-bit design prevents the
need for modifying the safe to accept a
double-bit keyway and can generally use
the existing spindle or cable hole.
In addition to keylocks, the Mauer
product range also includes a wide
selection of boltworks, available at
competitive trade prices. The Defender
M3 boltworks for example retail at
£21.74.

In September 2019 dormakaba
reviewed pricing for the Mauer keylocks
range, which happily resulted in
price reductions for Mauer Keylocks.

Varos is certified to EN1300 class
B, and so is suitable for safes graded
3-5. The change method for Varos is
also simplified to allow activation of
the change procedure using only the
old key. It is not necessary to access
the back of the lock or use a change
activator key.
