‘BETTER USE OF TAXPAYERS MONEY’

has advocated a stronger focus on crime
prevention in a wide-ranging speech
to Police Chiefs and Police & Crime
Commissioners.
In a speech at the Association of Police
& Crime Commissioners and National
Police Chiefs’ Council Partnership Summit,
Mr Javid said that he would be looking at
ways to reduce bureaucracy and increase
efficiency in the police service, and urged
police forces to make better use of taxpayers
money through greater collaboration
between forces and a stronger focus on
crime prevention.
The two-day partnership summit brought
together senior police leaders, politicians,
subject matter experts and decision makers
to address some of the most complex
issues in policing, community safety and
law enforcement. Key themes included
police reform, funding, criminal justice
transformation and preparing for Brexit.
