NEW RANGE WIN FOR
DAVENPORT BURGESS
AT MLA EXPO 17
» » EXPANSION INTO NEW
areas, finding out how
markets are changing
within the sector, attracting
new suppliers and picking
up new customers were all
part of MLA Expo 17 so far
as key blank manufacturer,
lock supplier and
locksmithing tool maker
Davenport Burgess’ sales
and marketing director,
Mark Davenport was
concerned.
‘We are
currently
expanding into
various areas
of technology
bids’
“We’ve taken on a new
range by being here,” says
Mark. “And the show gives
us all the opportunity to
assess where the market
is at present. There
are many who are a bit
unsure at the moment.
Individuals and businesses
have traditionally visited
high street retailers to
get new keys cut, but as
out-of-town shopping has
increased as a result of
large supermarkets and
shopping malls, the buying
habits have shifted and
patterns of old seem to be
changing to there being no
real pattern at all.
“We are currently
expanding into various
areas as technology bids.
Automotive locksmithing
is one of our latest
additions.”
Commenting on MLA
EXPO 17, Mark added:
“It’s always good to
meet customers and
suppliers. Perhaps there
isn’t quite the same
anticipation on visitors’
faces as there used to
be with new product
launches because they
can see them on YouTube
beforehand.”
HOMESTAR : MEETING
DOMESTIC MARKET
DEMAND FROM
GUNNEBO UK
Domestic market demand has brought
about Gunnebo UK’s Homestar, the
new range of Chubbsafes, launched at
MLA Expo 17. The company’s head of
channel sales Darran Bailey sees it as a
vital addition to the Chubbsafes brand.
» » ‘THE HOMESTAR
complements our existing
Homesafe range and shows
our commitment to the
domestic market that is
currently recording high levels
of unit sales. The range is
£2K rated, which also means
it is rated for cover of up to
£20,000 on valuables. There
are three main sizes – the
17 litre, laptop size and a
medium-size.’’
‘We have undertaken
considerable research and
development into providing
what the sector demands. In
addition to jewellery that has
long been a traditional safe
stored sector there are now
many other smaller items such
as iPods and iPhones that are
valuable and benefit from safe
storage. The Homestar is ideal
for this market.’
‘We are looking for new
partners interested in stocking
and selling our Chubbsafes
that appeal to all sectors from
business to private usage.
Deliveries of the Homestar
start in January.’
‘Homestar is ideal
for this market’
Comment on MLA EXPO 17:
‘It gives us the chance to
meet with new partners.’
