LOCKEX LINE-UP
» » LOCKEX 2018 IS
delighted that the Guild of
Architectural Ironmongers
(GAI) is the latest to support its
second show.
Back by popular demand,
Lockex returns to the winning
venue of Coventry’s Ricoh
Arena from 8-10 June. There
will be more to see than ever
as the show has expanded
to include security and fire
safety. All the attractions will
also be even handier, as the
exhibition, café and workshops
will now be in the main hall –
along with a special surprise.
None of this changes the all-
inclusive approach locksmiths
loved about Lockex 2016 – with
plus points like a free lunch,
free parking, and convenient
on-site hotel.
Event director Steve
Sidebottom said: “We’re
pleased that such a prestigious
organisation as the GAI is
supporting Lockex 2018. The
Guild will be exhibiting in our
new 72-square metre Pavilion
showcasing their education
qualifications.”
The Guild’s Douglas
Masterson will be conducting a
free training seminar with CPD
points available. In addition,
Lockex will host a student night
for the Institute of Architectural
Ironmongers Midlands branch.
The first Lockex show was
from 16-18 September, 2016,
also at Coventry’s Ricoh
arena. More than 1,723 people
attended over the three days,
visiting over 80 exhibitors and
taking part in 68 workshops
from leading suppliers.
Lockex 2018 is again brought
to you by The Locksmith Journal,
the UK’s leading industry
magazine. The magazine is
distributed to the most accurate
and comprehensive locksmith
database in the UK of over 8,500
locksmiths, and is a gateway
to the lock, safe, security and
hardware industry.
Rob Exley, director of
Locksmith Journal, said: “With
so much emphasis these
days on security and also
on fire safety, we have now
incorporated these important
aspects into Lockex 2018. But
while we have widened the
scope, the main core of the
show is still what we are all
about – the locksmith and auto
locksmith industry.”

people’s minds, the Guild of

Architectural ironmongers
play a crucial role in the
supply chain, working
with architects, interior
designers, contractors and
others to schedule and
specify the hardware for
every door and window in
a building and to produce
a full fixing schedule of
hardware items.
‘It is the latest
CPD seminar
available to
members’
The seminar, titled
Security and Ironmongery,
looks at both mechanical
and electrical locking
devices as well as security
standards for doorsets and
windows. It also covers key
