Click Fraud and How to Prevent It
What is Click Fraud?
Do you use Google
AdWords as a primary method
of driving targeted leads to
your locksmith business? If
so, it’s highly likely you’ve
heard the term ‘click fraud’
and may have even been
unlucky enough to experience
what it can do to your
advertising campaign.
Click fraud is a type of fraud
that occurs on the Internet
in pay-per-click (PPC)
online advertising when a
person, automated script
or computer programme
imitates a legitimate user
of a web browser clicking
on an ad, for the purpose of
generating a charge per click
without having actual interest
in the target of the ad’s link.
Click fraud is the subject
of some controversy and
increasing litigation due to the
advertising networks being a
key beneficiary of the fraud.
Every week we have
conversations with worried
locksmiths who are trying
to make the most of Pay Per
Click but are experiencing
anomalies in their AdWords
account which is resulting in
a distinct lack of enquiries.
