Q - the Approved Document, which came
into effect on the 1st of October covering
security of ‘easily accessible’ doors and
windows in homes.
The updates apply to doors and
windows that provide access from the
outside of a dwelling or communal area of
a building into a home. These doors and
windows must be able to resist attack by
a casual or opportunist burglar by being
both sufficiently robust and fitted with the
correct door hardware.
