My mum always tells me I ’ m showing my age when I say this , but I could not believe it was time for another magazine intro when I sat down to write this today .
» THE PAST TWO MONTHS HAVE FLOWN AND AS MAY also included two public holidays , the fast-flying days seemed to move even quicker . As June approaches , and with it the promise of normality once again ( although I ’ m scared to say it out loud ), we ’ re in for more changes ahead , and positive ones at that . My mum also tells me I waffle too much …
However , from print and online contributions we ’ ve been receiving recently - from ‘ one-man-bands ’ to International corporations , it seems that there is plenty to say across the industry , and I ’ m all ears . With the opportunity for expos and events on the horizon once again , it ’ s nice to think we ’ ll all be talking to each other face-to-face in the not-too-distant future . In the meantime , the print and digital trade media have - in my opinion - done a wonderful job in keeping everyone informed with the day-by-day events in the industry .
This is testament too to all the brands and businesses that have kept the channels of communication open throughout the pandemic , even from the very beginning when no-one really knew what was going on or what was going to happen ( sometimes I feel I still don ’ t !) The past 16 months have proved how important it is to stay in touch and stay informed ; dare I say , even stay inspired - to keep going .
What has kept us going at Clearview Group - home of The Locksmith Journal - is the constant stream of information coming into our magazines ( we have four print titles ; each with their own online channels , social media and email versions ). This eco-system is fed by you : the audience ; whether you read one magazine every month , keep up-to-date with the e-newsletters or prefer to browse online . Maybe you do a mixture of all the above .
The fact that everyone needs different news and reads it in a range of ways doesn ’ t actually make things here more difficult for us , we thrive on the variety . And just as security has its own system of complex components that go into the fabrication and fitting or hardware : mechanical , electrical , smart ; domestic , commercial or auto , you ’ ll find pretty much everything you need on these pages - print or web .
And , we ’ ll be here next time with more of the same …
