UAP Signs Exclusive Global Deal
» » UAP LIMITED HAS SIGNED AN
exclusive global licence deal for Dedlok,
a revolutionary high-security multi-point
locking system designed to combat break-
ins. ‘Blowtorch burglars’ – those using a
blowtorch to gain access through uPVC
doors – would be defeated by Dedlok.
The European Patent pending locking
system was developed in the UK by Tony
Simpson and John Creber. The duo was
inspired by a spate of blowtorch burglaries
local to Tony’s daughter. Tony wanted to
create a more secure way to protect his
daughter’s home and, ultimately, every
household in the country.
John Creber, one of two developers
of the Dedlok system, said: “Dedlok is a
fantastic system to add security on the
doorstep and it is incredible to have it
licensed to a company of UAP’s size and
reputation.”
David Jennings, CEO of UAP, said:
“Dedlok is an incredibly effective solution
that could revolutionise the way the
‘could revolutionise
the way the industry
locks doors’
industry locks doors. Our customers
will benefit from a cost-effective locking
solution; we can develop the system to
offer a genuine retrofit for existing locks
in the market. Dedlok can also be made
into electronic solution and will be central
to our electronic lock development
strategy.”
Dedlok, will complement UAP’s Fullex
locking systems.

ABLOY SCOOPS COVETED GOVERNMENT
SECURITY AWARD IN THE USA
» » ABLOY UK IS PROUD TO
announce its sister company,
Abloy USA, has been awarded
a prestigious Platinum ‘Govie’
Award for PROTEC2 CLIQ®
Connect, the highest-level
award available in the ‘Access
Control Devices/Peripherals –
Wireless’ category.
Launched in 2009, the
‘Govies’ honour outstanding
government security products in
a variety of categories, awarded
by Security Today, an integrated
product and technology
magazine for the North
American security market.
Abloy USA received the award
at ISC West 2019 International
Security Conference &
Exposition in Las Vegas.
The PROTEC2 CLIQ® access
control system was chosen
for the Platinum award as it
combines the best parts of
electronic and mechanical
locking. Based on a rotating
disc cylinder, the patented
PROTEC2 ensures mechanical
locking, while the electronic
CLIQ® technology enables the
flexible management of keys,
access rights and the access
register.
What’s more, the CLIQ®
Connect smartphone
application makes it possible
to update the user’s keys with
new access right anytime,
anywhere. The app is easy
to connect to both new and
already existing PROTEC2
CLIQ® systems. It is ideal
for geographically spread
out organisations, and the
optional personal PIN code
authentication added to the
mobile key makes it even more
secure.
Aaron Yule, Managing
Director of Abloy UK, said:
“In the UK, CLIQ® is already
established as a leading access
control solution which used
in a wide range of sectors to
protect critical assets, and
this award acknowledges the
strengths of CLIQ® as a modern,
industry-leading access control
solution to protect national
infrastructure.”
CLIQ® technology has
been implemented across a
significant number of CNI sites,

transformers.
CLIQ® was installed as a
solution to control access
at its sites, which are spread
across urban and remote rural
locations.
In the USA, a large utility
company in the Midwest
also secured its 4,000-plus
transmission locations
using CLIQ®, in line with
new standards that required
physical protection of critical
cyber assets.
