Uptake of MPL
training courses at
Lockex tells a story
»»THE UPTAKE OF TRAINING
courses at Lockex provided by the
MPL Locksmith Training Academy has
delighted both the show organisers and
MPL Managing Director Graham Jones.
The Toeing and Heeling masterclass
which is also going to include dimple lock
picking is fully subscribed which clearly
tells a story.
‘We are really looking
forward to Lockex
and being able to
deliver our courses’
Graham takes up that story, “We deliver
a wide range of courses at our training
academy which are always well attended,
but the instant uptake on the toeing and
heeling course has particularly delighted
us and confirms what we thought that
there is clearly a need in the market for
this particular course.
“We are really looking forward
to Lockex and being able to deliver
our courses and we look forward to
welcoming the 60 attendees at the time
– we will also have some special offers
for them for signing up which help them
further down the line!
“It is a great time for locksmith training,
we can see a real increase in those
entering the sector, often looking for
new careers after the closure of factories,
or after serving in the military or the
police and we would encourage anybody
interested in getting involved to get in
touch with us.

“We like to think that we do a really
good job for the people who come to us.
Our courses are delivered by time served
locksmiths who themselves are out in the
field on a day to day basis, ensuring that
they remain fully up to speed with all the
latest products and techniques needed to
be successful.
“We have also recently been given
accredited programme status by City &
Guilds to deliver our specialist locksmith
training course the uptake of this has been
tremendous.
“The course covers entry into all types
of doors – timber, aluminium and PVCu,
and covers every kind of lock type on the
market from a traditional mortice lock
to the latest multi-point locking types. It
is hands on and is supported by a fully
illustrated training manual.
‘fully up to speed with
all the latest products
and techniques’
“We are also able to supply all the tools
a locksmith might require, as well as
replacement locks and cylinders where
the need arises, and most importantly
after the course we have an on-going
telephone help-line for anybody who
has been accredited and wants practical
advice when in the field, or support to
gain access in a particular situation.”
