»»Mark Funston is owner of
North West Emergency Locksmiths
based at Bebington, Wallasey, West
Kirby, in the Worral, just five minutes
from the Mersey Tunnel. He has won a
Yale toolbox in our Locksmith Lottery
competition.
“This will come in very handy – you
can’t have too many good tools in this
job!” said Mark, who set up the mobile
business from home in July 2009, after
gaining bench experience with a local
locksmith firm. Mark does a lot of
domestic locksmith work and for the
past two years, has built up a thriving
auto locksmith side to the business as
well, working on behalf of Kwik-Fit,
Halfords etc. But he also handles an
increasing volume of specialist jobs
for business customers – in particular
estate agents – and his services are in
regular demand by the police, plus
accompanying bailiffs on warrant work
and assisting major utility companies to
gain access to properties.*
“We set high standards and only use
reputable, branded products supplied
at an affordable price.” Mark said.
“We don’t use call centres: we believe
people should be able to deal with us
directly to get the benefit of honest and
professional advice, be given exact prices
and low fixed price quotes.
Despite the name of the business,
Mark offers throughout the Wirral a wide
range of services other than emergency
lock-outs. These include all aspects
of UPVC lock installation, repair and
routine maintenance; replacement locks
on roller shutters and garage doors; fire

door advice, supply and installation;
window locks, and on-site key cutting
from the Bebington base.
“We provide a full mobile locksmith
service, so if customers need spare or
replacement keys we are able to cut them
at their property so they can test the key
there and then – no travelling into town to
collect a key which doesn’t fit the door.”
*In the next issue, we will be revisiting
Mark as part of our ”Day in the Life of…”
series, to learn more about some of his
“adventures” on police and warrant
work.
