DHF launches Fire Roller Shutter course in collaboration with BRE
» DOOR & HARDWARE Federation ( DHF ) has launched the revised Fire Roller Shutter course in collaboration with BRE .
The course is aimed at those involved in installing and maintaining roller shutter fire doors . Although delegates are expected to already possess an understanding and ability in the installation of rolling shutters / industrial doors , it is ideal for those who now wish to gain additional knowledge relating specifically to fire / smoke resistant roller shutter doors .
The course will comprise elements such as legislation , safe working practice , conformity marking , design
and specification , fire testing and certification , installation , safe operation and use , and maintenance and repair , and concludes with a multiplechoice examination .
DHF ’ s Head of Commercial Operations , Patricia Sowsbery- Stevens said : “ The content has been significantly updated and provides the key details that must be addressed when installing , repairing and
maintaining roller shutter fire doors . The importance of safe roller shutter fire door installation cannot be overemphasised , and poor installation can lead to an otherwise well-manufactured roller shutter door failing to meet the safety standards and , most importantly , failing to meet the required performance in the event of a fire .
