AUTO LOCKSMITHS NaVCIS collaborate with Police Crime Prevention Academy to tackle rural crime » NAVCIS - NATIONAL VEHICLE CRIME Intelligence Service - is a national police unit that works to protect communities in the UK from the harm of vehicle finance crime and associated serious and organised crime. Now, as part of the Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications provided by the Police Crime Prevention Academy, NaVCIS have been providing training around issues relating to the theft of Agricultural and Plant equipment; to raise awareness of the work that they do tackling vehicle crime connected with the rural, plant, haulage and leisure industries. Head of the Academy Guy Collyer said: “The Academy has been delighted to have the opportunity to work with NaVCIS and make delegates aware of this vital national resource. In addition, many of our delegates come from forces and organisations which geographically include a significant rural area, so an input that references practical ways to work with rural communities to help prevent and reduce crime is proving very useful.” The accredited Level 3 Award in Introduction to Crime Prevention qualification is appropriate for anyone whose role will involve providing practical crime prevention advice to communities. This includes being able to undertake domestic surveys and make appropriate recommendations incorporating suitable security products. The Level 3 qualification can be dovetailed into CPD for officers and staff, as well as providing a stepping-stone to the specialist qualification of the Level 4 Certificate in Crime Prevention for Practitioners. The Police Crime Prevention Academy (PCPA) maintains close working links with the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), as well as senior police officers from across the UK, and is the established supplier to the police service for crime prevention learning & development. As part of PCPI, the Academy is affiliated with the Secured by Design (SBD) initiative. The Academy, as an approved centre of the awarding body ProQual, has been delivering the nationally recognised generation of Ofqual-regulated qualifications in crime prevention and designing out crime since September 2018. The Academy also delivers a number of qualifications to the private sector, is an APSE Approved Partner for local authorities and provide RIBA approved presentation as part of the recognised CPD for architects. www.crimepreventionacademy.com Our vision is to be the global leading brand for high quality key cuers.
