SAFESEXTRA • 59 ‘Installation and full operating instructions are available on Safelock Systems’ website’ TIME DELAY Time delay is a feature which requires a period of time to elapse before the lock can be opened. This prevents users from being forced to open the lock immediately. The maximum time delay period is 99 minutes, and the maximum open window is 19 minutes. On the MiniTech system, users 50-59 can override time delay and open the lock immediately, which is most often used for cash-in-transit couriers. CERTIFICATION MiniTech swingbolt, motorbolt and deadbolt locks are certified to EN1300 Class B standard, and are approved for use on safes up to Grade 5 (V). BOLT TYPE MiniTech is available with several different bolt types, allowing for a wide range of retrofit options. TIMELOCK EXEMPTION Some users can be profiled as being exempt from the timelock schedule. Swingbolt Motorbolt The display shows the time delay and opening window counting, and is set as standard to count upwards, so that observers do not know when the time is due to run out, but can be configured on request. ‘All features available on MiniTech are accessible by pressing and holding shortcut keys – such as 1 for managing users, or 9 for amending time delay’ DALLAS KEYS A Dallas key in addition to a code is required to open the lock, for some or all users. If in dual mode, some users can be specified as Dallas key only, such as for cash-in-transit couriers. Deadbolt Latchbolt Motor Latchbolt MENU All features available on MiniTech are accessible by pressing and holding shortcut keys – such as 1 for managing users, or 9 for amending time delay. The display screen is easy to read and menu operations are straightforward and quick, allowing for efficient administration of the lock system. CONFIGURATION MiniTech is programmed to work out of the box to standard settings by Safelock Systems Ltd, but there are many additional features that can be enabled on request such as: DUAL MODE Dual mode requires two valid codes to be entered to open the lock. DUAL LOCKING MiniTech keypad can control up to two locks, of any type. LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | MAR/APR 2019 Sponsored by ERA - Total Security ALARM SIGNALS – INPUT AND OUTPUT With the addition of an alarm interface, MiniTech can send an output signal to an alarm if a Duress code is entered. A Duress code allows the lock to be opened, but sends a silent alarm, which is used to notify others that the user is being forced into opening the lock. From an alarm system or key switch, an input signal can disable the lock completely. BOLT MONITORING AND BOLT SWITCH CABLES The MiniTech keypad can sound a warning if the bolt is left open for too long. On some locks, cables originating from the lock’s circuit board can be connected to a door switch, so that the audit records whether the safe door is open or closed. DYNAMIC CODES (ONE- TIME CODES - OTC) With the addition of computer software and on initial setup, MiniTech is compatible with Tecnosicurezza’s Dyama system, which allows one-time codes to be generated for cash-in-transit couriers, for any dynamic user, at any time.
