future locksmiths

and home of renowned Training
Academy, Hickleys of Taunton will be
offering a first look at the new Advanced
Diagnostics Smartpro plus a selection of
other Smart products, exclusive offers
and discounts at its Lockex stand this
June.
Established in 1932, when Mr. Hickley
(who had been in business since 1925)
and Mr. Meikle – both of Taunton –
merged their companies together, in the
beginning there was a staff of just four
people, including the partners. By the
end of 2014 – its 90th year of trading –
Hickleys was employing 60 members of
staff and had an annual turnover of £70
million.
With a history that began as a battery
service and has spanned electrical
repairs, wholesale vehicle parts, and
body repair and refinishing, diagnostics
(followed by key programming) has
undoubtedly been the area of biggest
growth and the sector in which Hickleys
is best known and respected for.
As such, a trip to stand A20 will
be rewarded with displays and
demonstrations from a wide range
of diagnostic equipment – with
industry experts – plus lock picking
presentations for both auto and
domestic locks, and the Zedfull
programmer including Mercedes
upgrade.
Having trained countless men and
women at the academy since the early
1980s, Hickleys’ appearance at Lockex
2018 – Security & Fire Safety will benefit
not just locksmiths or auto locksmiths,
but also anyone wanting to get into the
business. As technical trainers will be
on hand across the weekend to discuss
the latest industry advancements and
courses available at the academy, the
Hickleys stand is a not-to-be-missed
opportunity for locksmiths at every
level.
