What are the door or gate specifications; style, door thickness, door material?
* For gates in exposed areas, or steel railing gates having combination on both sides( double sided) will safe guard both the entry and exit side.
Will the customer need auto locking or manual locking, dead bolt, hook bolt or latch bolt, mortise or surface mounted?
What additional features are required such as, hold back facility and or free passage?
What about key override( available as keyed to differ, keyed alike or master keyed)?
* Key override is most preferred when there are a number of locks installed in the same premises, all with different codes. Management, security or maintenance can have the key option rather than have to know all the codes or in case of lost / forgotten code.

Are the doors previously tested or assessed single or double leaf fire rated timber door sets, if so the digital door lock will need to be or has been fire tested in accordance to BS EN 1634-1: 2014 or BS 476: part 22 and supplied with the manufacturers specified intumescent kit.

Do the locks need to be approved to British standard BS 8607:2014 + A1:2016?

What about additional hardware that will enhance the overall effectiveness of

the lock such as good quality doors closers or gate closers, in turn this will also bring in additional income for the supplier and installer.
In short, mechanical digital locks are a simple but effective way of controlling access. The various lock options now available have expanded their sales potential and we should take advantage of that market where traditional digital locking is still preferred.
