BELATED 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY - AND YOU ’ RE ALL INVITED

Some people like to joke that once they ’ ve passed a certain age , they ’ ll always re-celebrate that same birthday every year after . For Keyprint , however , a 40th birthday party two years late may not have been through choice , but it won ’ t stop them celebrating in style . The Locksmith Journal caught up with Tony Andrea Ceraulo , ahead of the official open day in Edinburgh this September , to get the lowdown on the ‘ lockdown ’ birthday that sounds like it ’ ll really be worth the wait , even if it ’ s a wee bit late …
» “ EVEN BEFORE LOCKDOWN , nothing beats face-to-face , especially for locksmiths . This is why we have an open day every two years , and this is how we get to really share our technical expertise and showcase our product range . Training and tutorials are essential for locksmiths to keep up with new tools and advancements , and how-to videos are almost part of everyday life now . But you can ’ t touch , pick up or play with tools on a video , and – even though you can comment or follow up – you can ’ t ask real time questions with a video . Live demonstrations and classes therefore , have always been a major attraction of Keyprint Open Days , and for good reason . We are also lucky enough to have manufacturers on-hand at the Open Days , so not only will visitors get the benefit of Keyprint ’ s experience but also the opportunity to grill the people behind those products .
“ Something that Keyprint has always been very proud of – and continually improving , as we have grown as a business – is our technical and product knowledge . The company itself started as a key-cutting shop 42 years ago , so Keyprint began its life as a very practical application of locksmithing . By 1984 , the wholesale part of the business started to stock and sell key blanks , key machines , key accessories and padlocks . In 1996 Keyprint moved to a purpose-built facility where we are currently based . The premises comprise of a showroom with a trade counter , a warehouse , a locksmith workshop for all master keying work , key cutting workshop for the trade and a dedicated training facility .
“ Across four decades , Keyprint has forged lasting relationships with some of the biggest brands in the global security and hardware industry . It is through these relationships that , in turn , Keyprint has built its relationships with its own customers ; through its selection of innovative products and solutions , to its understanding of these products and their potential ; plus the potential they can unlock for our customers to boost their own business .
“ Sometimes fear of a product or lack of knowledge is the only thing holding locksmiths back from developing their business . There are many challenges in setting up a locksmith business or expanding into new sectors within the industry . For anyone wanting to do that , the Keyprint Open Day is a great place to start . You can get your hands on the products , talk to the people that designed and developed them , ask our own team at Keyprint anything you like , and check out our discounts and special offers , if you need some new equipment to set yourself up .
“ Of course the Open Day is not just for you to explore new avenues or take advantage of our special offers ; it presents a unique opportunity to build and strengthen those relationships with our team and our manufacturing partners . On our part , we would love to thank you in advance and we look forward to welcoming you and sharing our Scottish hospitality with you .”
