ASSOCIATIONS & TRAINING through qualifications , educating and correct training will always be our priority . During Covid-19 , DHF continued to provide a seamless and highly effective service , and although the country experienced 30 weeks of ‘ lockdown ’ during 2020 , DHF was open for 50 out of 52 weeks .”
It ’ s an impressive statistic , but aptly demonstrates DHF ’ s commitment to its members – and the industry . Notwithstanding , during that time , DHF invested in a new Training Academy website that launched November 2021 , enabling users to access training information quickly and easily and providing a thorough overview of courses for delegates ; in May of this year , it announced its decision to kick-start its training programme in the Republic of Ireland , with a series of one and twoday training courses . With training now underway , the federation is confident of growing its membership there .
DHF has also gained Ofqual accreditation for its training courses and offers the only theory based accredited training courses for the industry that complements the NVQ but doesn ’ t replace it . In early 2020 , DHF partnered with the Automatic Door Suppliers Association ( ADSA ), to launch a new joint venture , Entrance Systems Alliance Limited ( ESA ). The alliance was formed as an assessment centre to offer NVQ ( National Vocational ) qualifications to the industries served by both organisations . These include door and gate systems , such as fire doors , automated gates , and powered pedestrian doors . The single , combined NVQ qualification better serves the needs of the industry .
DHF has remained a vocal ambassador for training , safety , and compliance across multiple sectors , lobbying government and representing members on various committees ( such as BSI , Construction Products Association and Build UK ) to drive transformational change across industry .
“ Celebrating 125 years has provided us with an opportunity to reflect on our many achievements and milestones ,” concludes Patricia . “ The organisation has continued to prioritise training , compliance , expertise , growing one ’ s skillset and safety ; these are all the things that matter .”
