Industry News LETTER TO THE MEDIA INVESTING THE STAFF RETENTION BONUS » LIKE ALL UK BUSINESSES, WE recently found out that for every member of staff furloughed whom we still employ in January 2021, we will receive a £1,000 bonus. Because every member of the Brisant team is back from furlough, this amounts to around £50,000. It is this grant that many high-profile companies such as Primark and John Lewis have turned down. But we wanted to do more with it and so we are putting it towards the creation of five new trainee jobs for young people aged between 16 and 24. We believe the best way we can make a contribution is by investing the staff retention bonus directly into new jobs. This ensures that our capacity to give a next-day service on bespoke products stays in front of growing demand. By maintaining this service with new jobs, we also bring security for the existing team and more job opportunities, as the business continues to see more demand born from secure products and a dependable service. The COVID crisis has seen the company particularly busy with the supply of product on numerous NHS contracts, including one recently for Kingston Modular Systems. Kingston was delighted with the service received from CB Solutions, thanking them publicly for their ongoing support in difficult times to deliver on key NHS projects. VBH is proud to call CB Solutions a customer, supplying them with many products including greenteQ Alpha window and door handles, Q-Star TS007 profile cylinders and door and window hinges among others. VBH MD Simon Monks says “When lock down occurred we evaluated the safety of our staff and customers and quickly came to the conclusion that we could and would remain open with a skeleton staff to service our customers such as CB Solutions, who would need hardware for such vital work.” www.vbhgb.com www.cbsol.co.uk Cool and Smart this Summer » LIGHTWEIGHT SHIRTS, Shorts and Trousers make working on site a breeze this summer.
