AUTO KEY DEPARTMENT FROM THE QUAYS
» » VISITORS AND
exhibitors will likely have
spotted the RRG Group as the
team made their way down
to Lockex from Salford Quays
this year, as the Toyota truck
they chose as transport was
probably just as eye-catching
on the M6 as it was ‘parked’
outside the Burg Wächter
Café across the weekend
event.
With almost 50 years’
experience in the new and
used car dealership sector,
the RRG Group team were
on hand at this June’s Lockex
2018 – Security & Fire Safety
to represent the company’s
key department; making it a
must see for auto locksmiths
– and in fact, ‘the first to be
seen’ of the stands in this area
of the show due to its ‘parking
spot’ in the Ricoh Arena.
A well-known name across
the North West and Yorkshire
area, in the company’s own
words, “hard work, dedication,
passion, and a genuine
commitment to customer
satisfaction” has been the key
to the RRG Group’s success,
with continued investment
back into the company
helping the business to grow
and expand over the last five
decades.

THE SMART HOME LOCK WITH A KEY DIFFERENCE
» » SALTO SYSTEMS NEW
Residential Solutions Manager,
Jack Cowburn explains how
the company’s Danalock – on
display and demonstration
at this June’s Lockex 2018 –
Security & Fire Safety opens
up new opportunities for
locksmiths while still retaining
their key areas of business…
“Danalock is a residential
smart lock that links into the
smart home with different
platforms such as Z-Wave
and Zigbee (there’s also an
Apple home kit), but the main
difference is that it retains a
key and cylinder as well.
“For the locksmith in the
community, because the
Danalock still requires suited
keys, you won’t lose that part of
your business when customers
install the new system.
“In terms of Lockex, the
show has been good with lots
of different people interested
such as door manufacturers
and locksmiths. The Danalock
has been drumming up some
interest, mostly because
people have been really
excited with the concept of
a smart home lock, with a
key; rather than being fully
electronic. This certainly
seems to be a strong selling
point for them.”

DOORWAY TO THE FUTURE WITH YALE
» » SHOWCASING ITS RANGE OF SMART
Living products – that provide seamless
connectivity – the Yale stand at this
year’s Lockex, with its light and bright
display, perfectly represented the bright
future you would expect from such a
well-known brand’s latest innovations.
As one of the most recognisable
names in the industry, for consumers
as well as insiders, Yale has been at the
forefront of home security for 175 years,
and its dedication to innovation over
that time has undoubtedly been one of
the main reasons it has stood the test
of time. And, as this year’s Lockex 2018
– Security & Fire Safety took place just
a few weeks after ‘Smart Home Week’
in May, the Smart Living range of locks,
alarms, indoor cameras, and CCTV,
seemed to be a truly timely topic.
Visitors to the Yale stand had the
chance to find out all about the range
from its design to its installation, with
displays and demonstrations, plus the
expert team from Willenhall available
to answer any questions. Plus, three
lucky winners – picked at random
across the weekend for the Locksmith
Lottery – got their hands on Home View
WiFi Cameras, so thank you Yale for the
generous donation!
