Hickleys’“ high performance hybrid” Smart Pro
Auto locksmith specialist Hickleys recently launched the Smart Pro key programmer by Advanced Diagnostics. Touted as“ an all-in-one hybrid solution” the Smart Pro replaces the MVP Pro, and was exclusively revealed at this year’ s Lockex in June.
‘ IN THE DRIVING SEAT’
And, while the Smart Pro is right at the cutting edge of programming for transponder keys, proximity keys and remotes, and for reading PIN codes; the system couldn’ t be simpler to use, featuring a step-by-step sequence program that guides the user through the process.
Meanwhile the variety of purchase options means that auto locksmiths can choose the package that is most suitable to their individual requirements – such as pay-as-you-go, UTP( unlimited token plan), or just‘ picking and mixing’ the modules you need – always with the opportunity to fine tune their system and features should they need to alter it in the future; in line with the evolution of their own company’ s products and services.
All of this will be stored and recorded in the MySmart Pro section that keeps track of all your software purchases, expiry dates, token credits and UTP plans, while the option to customise archived data and‘ favourites’ means you get faster access to your most frequently used facilities.
And, when it comes to those dreaded updates, locksmiths won’ t be wasting time with slow-paced, out-of-date software as Smart Pro will send a notification as soon as an update is available, meaning all the user has to do is connect to wi-fi( or through a personal computer with USB) and they will receive a walk-through guide to any and all modules that need to be updated plus simple instructions of how to do it.
‘ UNDER THE BONNET’ In terms of features and procedures, the new Smart Pro contains the details of over 5000 makes and models of vehicles, with an alphabetised manufacturers’ directory, photographs and images to further help the user identify cars and vans, vehicle information, such as VIN number, transponder type, immobiliser system, Silca transponder, and key reference, electronic on board diagnostics( EOBD), and optimised transponder management( supporting Texas ®, Texas ® Crypto, Texas ® 80 bit, Philips ® Crypto, Philips ® Crypto 2 and Megamos ® Crypto) which helps to identify, pre-set, and pre-code functions; all in a streamlined process.
In addition, the Smart Pro contains hints and tips, advice and suggestions on all manner of auto locksmith key, transponder, and immobiliser matters, faster programming – with a powerful quad core processor, plus new hardware and software – and step-by-step instructions for programming a remote, for which all procedures have been tested by the designer – Advanced Diagnostics – for an intuitive approach and accurate results.
‘ NEW CHASSIS’
All this technology is packaged in a 10- inch touch screen tablet, with coloured graphics and several language options. The icons and‘ buttons’ are clear and easy to read making the experience as simple as possible for the user. The screen is made from tough Gorilla glass and the unit comes compete with hard body carry case that is fitted out with a bespoke rubber internal compartment with shaped slots to house various tools. The Smart Pro runs for approximately two hours as a hand-held device and can be recharged via either mains cable or through the OBD port.
