56 • OUTDOORSECURITY PROUD SPONSORS OF THIS PAGE DHF CELEBRATES A SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE WITH A SMART NEW WEBSITE AND BRANDING » » DHF (DOOR AND HARDWARE Federation) might well be celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, but its sights remain firmly fixed on the future. The pro-active team at the Tamworth-based trade association is marking the significant milestone with the launch of its new branding and website – www.dhfonline.org. uk. In 2016, the organisation identified a need to bring its logo, literature and website up to date and has now has unveiled its smart new look which embraces all-things- modern, but doesn’t forget its history or roots. The new, improved dhf logo has a definite boldness, with the website providing an upgraded platform to showcase its services, offering a clean, fresh and current interface with stimulating content befitting of the solid dhf brand. It is anticipated that, over time, dhf will be easily recognisable from the layout, colours, categories and style of its new branding culminating in a more professional image. This objective has, in dhf Marketing Manager, Patricia Sowsbery- Stevens’ view, been achieved: “I am absolutely thrilled with the new branding, which has taken more than a year to perfect,” she says. “Our new look is modern and the website delivers on all levels; we are delighted that the branding fully reflects our values and vision.” dhf’s shiny new look has been the brainchild of Patricia, who embarked on a consultative approach to the new website design, with members conferred with at every stage. The result has been much admired, both from a design and functionality perspective. “The website enables access to information quickly and easily, provides a thorough overview of the six member areas that it represents and permits the simple downloading of publications,” explains Patricia. “Information relating to standards and legislation, a new ‘search facility’, and a dedicated member’s area offering a host of services, are also important features.” The organisation has experienced significant member growth over the past five years, with almost 400 members in 2017, compared to just 220 in 2012. In addition, more than 1200 individuals have completed the dhf Safety Diploma Training Course, with the dhf initiative, ‘Gate Safety Week’, a year- long commitment that culminates in a week of activities during October, now in its fourth year. A new training officer and additional administrative staff have also joined the organisation to support its on-going growth. Director of Technical Services, David Wilkinson, LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | JUL/AUG 2017 Sponsored by SMP Security Solutions comments: “PD6669 came about due to a desire from industry for clarification as to how existing standards for installing, commissioning and maintaining alarm transmission systems should be applied. This scheme provides that clarity and will be beneficial to all of those involved in the field of alarm transmission systems. The scheme has broad support from a wide range of industry stakeholders and through this series of briefings, we hope to achieve a greater understanding of its purpose and encourage adoption from industry practitioners.” To register for any of the PD6669 briefings, please visit: www.bsia.co.uk
