Concealed transom closers designed to perform beyond expectation
»»
ADAMS RITE, PART OF ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, has cut the delivery times of the ARC51N Concealed Transom Door Closer Range.
Door manufacturers can specify the ARC51N and be confident it will reliably perform in all typical market applications. Fully tested to EN1154, the ARC51N range has successfully helped many commercial doorsets achieve PAS24 and EN6375, demonstrating security and durability.
The ARC51N has been subjected to mechanical load tests, taken though hard and soft body impact tests and been manually attacked with a range of tools. All units are supplied with a heavy-duty bottom pivot as standard. The ARC51N is the ideal choice for OEM door manufacturers wanting to provide security doors in areas at risk of attack.
Safety is a top priority when designing or installing a door system, so the ARC51N is suitable for use with all antifinger trap sections, which prevent accidents happening to stray hands. Also, the ARC51N has a standard footprint, allowing fast installation across a wide variety of commercial aluminium door systems and can be specified with 18, 22 or 26mm spindles.

GAI SEMINAR RECEIVES RIBA CPD APPROVAL
»»
AN INTRODUCTORY seminar on the specification of door hardware has received the Royal Institute of British Architects’( RIBA) assessment and approval, providing double learning points for architects and other construction professionals.
The CPD module is produced by the GAI and will be delivered exclusively by GAI members across the country.
Architectural ironmongers play a crucial role in the supply chain, working with architects, interior designers, contractors and others to schedule and specify the hardware for every door and window in a building and to produce a full fixing schedule of hardware items.
The seminar is intended as a beginner’ s guide for architects and architectural technicians and includes advice on the main considerations when specifying door hardware, how a hardware specification is put together, the risks and how to avoid them, as well as tips on choosing working with an architectural ironmonger.
The presentation is based on the GAI publication‘ Specification of Door Hardware – an Architect’ s Guide’ which was published last year together with a useful glossary of technical terms. This can be downloaded on the GAI website( www. gai. org. uk).
