With this in mind, they are running a major consumer marketing campaign designed to drive demand for locksmiths throughout the summer months. »»THE ‘HOME & AWAY’ campaign is designed to help raise awareness of the importance of home security and to provide homeowners with tips and advice on how best to protect their property this summer. To support this, Yale has produced a Home & Away infographic filled with summer statistics to encourage homeowners to think about securing their homes before they go on holiday. In addition, the campaign also includes a summer themed home security checklist, which prompts consumers to contact their local locksmith for more information and advice. Wayne Kennedy, Locksmith Channel Manager for Yale, said: “2016 is a busy sporting year with the Euros and Olympics both playing a big part in our events calendar this summer. That means more people than ever will be out and about enjoying themselves and taking part in social activities, which provides opportunistic thieves with the chance to ramp up their activity. “As well as this, school holidays are a peak time for getaways, and while away from home many consumers leave valuable items such as outdoor furniture and leisure equipment in sheds or outbuildings with minimal security. ‘keep Britain’s homes safe and secure’ “Yale’s Home & Away campaign provides locksmiths with the hook to maximise summer security sales and helps increase awareness of Yale’s product offering in order to keep Britain’s homes safe and secure.” The campaign is supported by an on-going programme of promotional activity in national and regional press, as well as on social media. www.yale.co.uk/tradeuk LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | JUL/AUG 2016 Sponsored by ASSA ABLOY
