The Guardian Anti-Theft is extremely driver friendly with the driver just needing to engaged the lock when leaving the cab on-site or on-the-road vehicle by pressing a button on the paired remote control device. Even if the keys are in the ignition and the engine is running, by simply arming Guardian Anti-Theft any attempt to drive the vehicle away will result in a complete lock-down of the engine – until the driver disarms the lock. For the first time, owners and drivers can completely relax when their vehicles are parked on a site, and when remote, in a motorway services lorry park or in a compound. Whatever type of over 7.5 tonne vehicle is left unattended overnight or during weekends, thieves and joyriders will not be able to hot-wire the ignition, clone or hack into the electronics within the Guardian control unit. Even if they do manage to find the discreet wires or control box, there is little chance of them being able to take the unit out of Armed Mode without the remote. And, simply by taking remotes home at the end of the day or when they have to leave their vehicles unattended during working hours, drivers, operators, site managers and fleet operations teams will no longer have to worry. Their vehicle cannot be driven away. The failsafe elements of the unit mean that the lock-down of the engine stays secure whatever would-be thieves try to do. This small device is so discreetly sneaky that even an on-board security system will not be able to detect it and Guardian does not interfere with in-built electronic systems in any way. Guardian Anti Theft has been specifically designed to prevent thefts but also has a strong defence against hijacking. Should an on-the-road vehicle be subject to a driver take-over, all he or she has to do is discreetly press the button on the pocket or lanyard remote control whilst walking away. This is a nonconfrontational way for freight drivers to get out of harm’s way but also ensures the hijackers will not be able get the vehicle moving. There are no similar devices available; Guardian Anti-Theft has founded a completely new generation of non-microprocessor vehicle security devices. ‘any attempt to drive the vehicle away will result in a complete lockdown of the engine - until the driver disarms the lock’ As a recent, widely reported review by Allianz Cornhill Engineering revealed, it is estimated that the UK construction industry alone is losing over £70 million val ue of plant stolen from construction sites – this rises to a staggering £800 million a year when other costs are added in when thefts Continued on page 16 >>> LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | JUL/AUG 2016 Sponsored by ASSA ABLOY
