Advanced Keys Limited has recently moved into new premises in Birmingham to help cater for the needs of its customers and Locksmith Journal caught up with Kim Stanier , managing director for Advanced Keys to discuss the reasoning behind the move .

With an already comprehensive range of competitively priced Autolocksmith products , Advanced Keys is constantly developing and adding the latest new items to its range to allow customers to benefit , and part of the new move is to aid the business stock even larger quantities of new and existing products .

Kim explains : “ We decided to invest in the new premises to enable us to hold larger volumes of stock and introduce new items to our range . The new site is only seven miles from our previous premises , allowing customers to still be able to collect their ordered products conveniently , utilising our easy parking facilities .

“ We had outgrown our previous premises , which had started to get extremely cramped through the growth of the business , and so set about looking for a new site to house our growing organisation . The new location at Unit D1 , OYO Business Park , Birmingham ticked all the boxes we needed to enable us to move our business forward , without causing too much disruption to our clients .”

It has an internal antenna with high gain receiver to pick off the antenna signal , but additionally it has an external antenna wand connection to connect a wafer thin antenna for testing the push start , card slots and smart key types . The external wand can slide into the key or card reader as well as the key , easily picking up the signal being sent from the vehicle .

When the key or card is inserted , the vehicle sends a signal to the transponder inside the key and the TDB006 will pick up this signal , and identify that the slot key or card reader is functioning correctly .
