From Humble Beginnings

started life supplying
Locksmiths in 1994 from
a corner shop in South
Croydon. Managing Partner,
Chris Fulcher tells Locksmith
Journal how the business has
grown with industry demand
and new products.
“After building an enviable
reputation for being a supplier
who offered friendly and helpful
advice and excellent service,
we began to grow significantly
over our early years. In 2005,
we made the decision to move
our business to larger premises,
giving us an increased floor area
of over five times more than it
was before and allowing us to
stock even more product lines.
“The move also helped us to
give our customers better car
parking facilities, more space
to display and demonstrate
our products and was a prime
location for our customers to
access us, being conveniently
situated between South
Croydon and Purley, and
accessible from the M23/M25
motorway systems.
“Our out-of-town location also
gave us an advantage over our
local competitors; customers
were able to drive and pick up
all their hardware requirements
without having to negotiate busy
roads and heavy traffic.
“Now, our purpose built
trade counter and warehouse
not only offers a full range of
door furniture, mortice locks,
door closers, panic hardware,
hinges and other associated
products, but we are able to
offer customers a complete
range of key cutting services,
including; master keying, keying
alike, lock repairs and bespoke
patented key section with the
ability to stamp on to the key, a
company’s name and telephone
number. The system is modular
and can accommodate 31/71
euro-cylinders from stock.
“One other key product
available exclusively to us is
the ‘Securitystrip’ - an antijemmy door bar which has
been manufactured to fill
the demand of the popular,
but now obsolete product
‘Secustrip’. Our Securitystrip
is manufactured solely for us
and is stocked in two versions;
inward and outward, offering
additional security against the
attempts of forced entry.
“The product can also be
retrofitted easily to the locking
side of a timber or aluminium
door and is supplied powder
coated in white.
“Locksafe may well have
grown in size since our first
days of trading, however our
friendly and helpful advice and
excellent customer service is
still a quality we pride ourselves
on. We always look forward to
welcoming customers old and
new at our trade counter open
Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm.”
