LOCKEX2018 • 35 3 ON THE MOVE It’s safe to say that one of the major attractions of Lockex 2016 was the free training seminars. This year, the workshop area – complete with eight demo zones – has been relocated right into the heart of the Ricoh Arena, meaning that guests won’t have to miss a second of the show by leaving the building to ‘get to class’ and exhibitors will benefit from increased footfall to their stands situated around the central learning space. With workshops for locksmiths, autolocksmiths, security and fire safety across all three days of Lockex, there’s something for everyone and it’s all FREE! 4 ‘ALL INCLUSIVE’ If there’s one thing that springs to mind when it comes to trade shows it’s the (often over-inflated) costs that go along with them. Tickets, parking, food and drink all add up, but not at Lockex 2018 – Security & Fire Safety. Once you have your ticket you will be provided with free parking, meal vouchers and even a breakfast butty on arrival. All workshops, seminars and classes are totally free and there will be no hidden surcharges to listen to the keynote speech. This isn’t just good news for the guests either, an ‘all inclusive’ package means that exhibitors will get more visitors to their stands for them to showcase their products and services to. 5 GREAT SPORTS Sports fans take note: Lockex 2018 – Security & Fire Safety will be held at on the earlier dates of the 8th, 9th and 10th June, around two months shy of the two-year mark since Lockex 2016. With 2018 boasting a super summer schedule of sporting events including the World Cup in Russia and Commonwealth Games in Australia, Lockex is perfectly situated on a weekend that avoids any major international football, cricket, athletics, golf, tennis, cycling or motor racing. This is also great news for anyone about to sit exams as they’ll be able to leave the study books at home for the weekend and benefit from practical hints and tips from the best people in the industry before they take their assessments. KEY NOTE ASSA ABLOY UK’s Neil Vann will be conducting an exclusive key note speech at this year’s Lockex; a not-to-be-missed opportunity for visitors from every field. Holding the position of CEO and Market Region Manager of the world’s leading supplier of intelligent lock and security systems, it’s safe to say that Neil really knows his stuff when it comes to the industry and anyone that has seen his talks before will know he is a fantastic speech-giver. Neil’s presence at Lockex 2016 was a real highlight for all involved so it’s great to hear he will be at this year’s exhibition. 6 Lockex 2018 – Security & Fire Safety!
