Using keyword to make your business stand out on Google for free

»»
GETTING VISITORS ON YOUR website is important , but getting the right kind of visitors is much more valuable . With the right type of keywords you can be more in control of the people who visit your business webpage and get in contact with you . Of course , everyone heard about keywords before , but to understand how they can be useful for your business , you need to understand how Google search engine works as a business .
Google is the most used search engine , and it makes its money from selling advertising space to various companies . However , to make sure that companies buy the space , they need to show that a lot of people use Google engine to look for things . That ’ s why it is the number one objective for Google to show the most relevant search results for people , making certain websites “ organically ” ( for free ) to top up the search space .
In order for your website to top up the Google search rating it is important to imagine yourself as your customer and think about possible combination of words that they will be typing in case they will need to find a someone to help with their task . Of course , some will know about your company and they can type in straight away your company ’ s name and some will just be looking for “ locksmith near me ”. As you can see , there are generally two types of requests can be called branded and non-branded requests . And of course , it is important to make sure that all keywords are relevant for your business . For example , using the keyword “ London ” on the website of the locksmith base in London would not be good enough , ideally the person would you a combination of words 1-3 words ( or a keyword phrase ) to become more relevant for google search . For example “ open door lost keys Hammersmith ”.
For branded requests it will be important to make sure that you are registered on Google My Business ( which is free ) and Google will show to a prospective customer your contact details as well as location . It gets a bit more complicated to achieve high ranking on Google for non-branded requesters . But this is totally possible to do it for FREE .
Step one : Just imagine each of different types of customers you might be dealing with and write for each of them the list of possible Google searches / requests they might be making . For example for homeowners it could be (“ fix the lock in the front door Manchester ”), for businesses it could be ( locksmith change locks in the kindergarten ). Some of the questions which you might ask yourself , to help you come up with ideas : what does this customer want to fix or change ? Where in the house / office / garden he need to have the work done ? What will the customer need to know / read before he makes a choice to call you ?
If you are struggling to come up with the keywords , simply go to Google and type in the first keyword phrase , google will show the list of possible webpages which are relevant to this phrase , and the bottom of the google page you will see “ Searches related to …. ( your phrase )” and a list of possible ideas from Google . If you would like to continue with your research of keywords , simply type in the keywords proposed by Google and see what new results will you get .
‘ make sure to write down additional keywords proposed by Google Keyword Planner if they fit the criteria ’
‘ it is important to make sure that all keywords are relevant for your business ’
Both techniques should help you to come up with the lists of ideas for your website .
Step two : After you have created lists for each customer , you can check Google Keyword Planner . Type in location ( the area that you cover ) and than the first phrase customer request from one of your lists from the step one .
Check monthly volume of the searches for each of the requests , note down the level of competition ( Low / Medium / High ) on each of the keyword phrases . If competitors were ranking high on the keywords it will make sense to use them . However , if you have come up with keyword phrases which have high request level per month , but low competition it would be event better ! They will be your most valuable words to focus on . Also , make sure to write down additional keywords proposed by Google Keyword Planner if they fit the criteria : search per month volume / competition .
Step three : It will be important to start a blog on your website to use top 5-10 keyword combinations from each of the lists in each of the articles . One article will be geared towards the type of customer and will use 5-10 words ( make sure that use use exact combination of words , because even one different letter will look as a different keyword to google ).
