Mul-T-Lock SMARTair Installation and Troubleshooting Tips
SYSTEM TYPES:
• STANDALONE( no software needed)
• UPDATE-ON-CARD( software based)

SMARTAIR ESCUTCHEON INSTALLATION TIPS:
• Use the fixing template provided to drill the relevant holes on the door.
• Change the handing of the handle by pushing the button on the inside to change from left to right or vice versa.
• Make sure to measure the width of the door where the unit is being installed on and use the appropriate spindle kit.
• Order the relevant spindle kit( 44mm to 50mm kit supplied as standard).
• Other spindle kits available in sizes:- 50mm to 56mm- 56mm to 62mm- 62mm to 68mm- 68mm to 74mm- 74mm to 80mm
• Once the unit is secure on the door, insert the white connector from the front panel to the back( before inserting the batteries).
TROUBLESHOOTING / FAQ’ S:
• The unit is installed but no lights come on when a card / tag is presented:
Check if the polarity of the batteries is correct, also short the two brass pins at the back of the unit to bring it back to factory settings.
• The unit is connected and the light flashes green when the card / tag is presented but the handle does not operate:
Measure the width of the door and make sue the correct size spindle kit is used.
• The unit is constantly left in the“ open” mode:
The passage mode may have been activated, present the card / tag with the passage function twice to the unit to take it out of the passage mode.
• The unit operates but flashes red and green light when a card / tag is presented:
This is an indication of a low battery. This is the time to replace them with a new set of batteries.
• The batteries are completely flat with no light indications:
Use the emergency battery pack( sold separately) to give the unit the required power, use a valid card / tag to open the door and then replace the batteries on the unit.
