70 • AUTOLOCKSMITHS PROUD SPONSORS OF THIS PAGE Lockdecoders moves into purpose built site »»PETER SOUTHERN, OWNER of Lockdecoders, initially started what is one of the industry’s most infamous Auto-Locksmiths tool suppliers back in 2007, as part of his originally business, ‘First Auto Locksmiths’; which he first established in 1988, servicing local areas with his Auto-Locksmith services. In 2011, Peter took the decision to disband the AutoLocksmith servicing side of the business and concentrate solely on the supply of locksmith tools. Lockdecoders research and development of its product and service offering has been developed as a consequence of its experience and expertise within the Auto-Locksmith market place, and has contributed towards creating a practical range of specialised tools and machines for Locksmiths, over the last decade. The MiraClone part of the Miracle range is one of these developments. The renowned range of key cutting machines was produced in collaboration with Red Technology, South Korea and is now used across a multitude of nations. Due to the exceptional pick up of products from the Miracle range, Lockdecoders has also introduced the ‘Magic’ series of engravers, SuperVag - a product solution for use when consumers lose thier VAG keys, and more recently the SuperMerc range – a solution offering the same function for Mercedes electronic keys. With the development and growth of an assortment of successful products, the business started to take over trading from home, and a new Head Quarters was needed. The new site needed to accommodate the business needs, consisting of; three large offices, a good-sized storeroom, a demonstration area and a training centre. It needed to be in walking distance of the nearby rail station and easy access from the M25 and M20 motorways. After twelve months of searching, Peter found and acquired the businesses new site. However, to ensure the site was adequate Peter and his staff had to oversee massive alterations and costs, involving a catalogue of contractors from painters and decorators to computer technicians. The alterations took approximately six weeks to complete and one of the first items on the agenda for the company was to conduct its first training seminar at its new site. Due to the rel
