A highlight of 2014 for N W Keys directors, Sam
and Nicky Rutter was without doubt their visit to
the ‘Just Cars’ event in Orlando last May, where
the sisters had a meeting with Mr Li, inventor
of the world-renowned Original Lishi tools.

have James Chen, Mr Li’s
interpreter and marketing
executive, to translate for us,”
said NW Keys MD, Sam. “Both
he and Mr Li were very gracious
and charming.
“It was a pivotal meeting
for us,” Sam explained, “as
not only were we able to meet
Mr Li personally but we also
finalised our distribution deal
which is a major coup for our
company. Working directly
with Mr Li and James allows
us to see new designs brought
to market and also work with
James and Mr Li in proposing
requests that we get directly
from customers here. We will
have exclusivity on the new
designs approximately six
months ahead of them being
copied and reproduced in the
marketplace.”
Commenting on behalf of Mr
Li the distribution venture with
NW Keys, James said:
“Mr Li is very pleased to have
NW Keys as our first-time ever
distributor in UK. We have been
working successfully for the last
six months and will continue
to do so. Mr Li is happy to see
NW Keys distributing his tools
for great EU markets when the
time comes and he will be
developing and improving
tools specifically for UK/Europe
markets. Mr Li is very keen to
attend European trade shows
and loves to meet locksmiths in
person.”
Sam continued: “We are also
able to supply quality original
Mr Li stock boxes fully labelled
with stock codes that allow safe
and secure storage of these
picks. We also have a Lishi pick
material roll which allows the
picks to be rolled up and stored
safely in smaller areas.
“The distribution deal is
working very well for us as we
are involved with a lot of large
locksmith groups. We have
recently agreed distribution
terms with Aldridge which
is another significant step
forward and widens our scope
for getting quality tools to
the locksmith’s country wide.
We feel it is important for our
own reputation to be seen
to be associated with wellestablished and respected
companies of that stature.”

believe has a lot to lend ideas-

and Europe.
“It was a show with a great
atmosphere with a lot of lively
interaction between the people
there – that doesn’t seem to
happen so much in the UK.
Perhaps that is something to
do with the long distances
involved in the US – people
have to travel such a long way
they want to get as much out of
it as they possibly can.”
Sam and Nicky firmly believe
in good, practical hands-on
training for the industry for
people to get the best out
of the tools and welcome
their customers to visit their
premises in Liverpool and
either receive training on new
products or update their skills
on products they may have
purchased but are still wary of
using.
“Our continued expansion
in 2015 includes a new van
on the road as we welcome
Charlotte to our team. We now
have five Mercedes Sprinter
vans on the road, fully stocked
with a vast range of key blanks,
locks, accessories and novelty
goods to provide a quality key
supply service. We currently
