» INITIALLY OUR relationship with SBD began back in 2015 as we struggled to gain entry into the prison and metal health care sector , we had developed with our partners , a range of antiligature mirrors that offered greater protection for staff and residents but getting approval seemed almost impossible , following several meetings with SBD we found a route in and the 3rd party accreditation SBD was able to offer opened that and many other doors .
Adding other products to the Police approved specification list had a similar effect and we became the first company to obtain SS302 a Gun cabinet standard developed with SBD and Sold Secure . Prior to the above actions we had been primarily known as a

distributor for high quality safes and strongrooms , but held a desire to spread our offering and thus the risk of only operating in a niche market . SBD and its Development Officers not only helped us with contacts but also offered a sounding board from the police and designing out crime perspective , ensuring that the products not only fitted today ’ s requirement but also future proofing in line with pending legislation that in some cases we were not aware of .
While the Development officers are a mine of information we have also found that the SBD Atlas training event held each year gave us access to the DOCO ’ s ( Designing Out Crime Officers ) and Crime

prevention officers from all over the country thus enabling us to share our offering has led to some very interesting projects that NDA ’ s prevent me disclosing but we would have not been given a seat at the table if not for membership , we find membership and its audits is looked upon as a filter by the corporate customer for companies and suppliers who they can work with and almost becomes part of their due diligence . |
